In March 2010, Diversified Enterprises Group, LLC was founded to offer a high level of professional services in the Information Technology industries to clients in the commercial and government sectors as well as organizations located within the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia geographic areas. The company was formed by Ms. E. Renée Ingram to participate in the dramatic growth of the Information Technology industries.

This type of strategy is supported by the Department of Energy as is outlined in one report "highlighting the benefits of the Recovery Act to small businesses throughout the clean, renewable energy industry and environmental management sector." The report found that as of early March 2010, small businesses have been selected to receive nearly $5.4 billion in funding across a number of Recovery Act.
